Ecological Critique of the Budget

This publication brings together critical reflections on budgetary priorities and public expenditure,
linking them to questions of climate vulnerability, environmental protection, and ecological justice.
Released as part of Friends of the Earth India’s ongoing work to foreground ecological justice,
democratic governance, and people-centred development, this work aims to contribute to informed
discussions among parliamentarians, political leaders, and the wider civil society, helping to place
ecological concerns at the centre of policy debates and legislative processes.
Is it Just a Transition? A case study of Rewa Ultra Mega Solar Limited

Many states in India have already recognized and identified the opportunity that energy can offer in addition to being an everlasting source of power. While there has been a visible impact of solar energy in the Indian energy sector, the generation of these resources has not even met 10% of the total demand of the country. Renewable energy and land use: barriers to just transition in the Global South – report

There is an urgent need for a rapid and just transition away from the harmful fossil fuel-based energy system, to a renewable energy system based on energy sufficiency for all. This report explores energy transitions in four countries of the Global South: India, Palestine, Bangladesh and Argentina.
